Summary
New refund timing rules for undeliverable orders: orders ≥$200 no longer receive immediate refunds on failed delivery; sellers must wait for returned items. Sellers gain 10-30 day review window to approve/reject refunds; auto-approval after 30 days if no action taken.
Why it matters
Sellers now hold refund liability for high-value orders during return transit. Requires active monitoring of returns within 30-day window or refunds auto-approve despite item disputes. Non-returnable items lose advanced refund eligibility entirely.
Recommended action
Audit current undeliverable order volume ≥$200. Set calendar reminders for 10-day review windows. Document return item condition upon receipt. Establish process to review and approve/reject refunds before 30-day auto-approval deadline.
Refunds will be automatically processed once the logistics provider confirms the order is being returned to the seller. Sellers do not need to take any action. Tik Tok Shop will cancel the order and issue the refund to the original payment method.
Orders valued at $200 or more will not receive an immediate refund for failed delivery. Instead, Tik Tok Shop will process the refund after the seller receives the returned item. Additionally, non-returnable items are not eligible for an advanced refund.
If you do not receive a returned item after an advanced refund has been issued, you may review the refund request starting from 10 days after customer drop-off. During this review period, you may approve or reject the refund.
If you reject the refund request during your review period, Tik Tok Shop will automatically raise a ticket to Customer Service for review.
If no action is taken within 30 days after an advanced refund is issued, the refund will be automatically approved.
