It applies to all users who create and share e-commerce content on Tik Tok (creators).
Becoming a Tik Tok Shop Creator You may become a Tik Tok Shop creator by applying through Tik Tok Shop or accepting a Creator Bind invitation from a Tik Tok Shop seller.
Creators who have been approved to promote products from the Tik Tok Shop Product Marketplace can monetize their content and promote products on Tik Tok Shop in the following ways: Displaying products on their Tik Tok profile page Advertising and promoting products with a shoppable link in videos uploaded on Tik Tok Promoting products during Tik Tok livestreams Refer to our guide on What You Need to Know before Becoming a Tik Tok Shop Creator to start onboarding.
Types of Creators There are three types of Tik Tok Shop creators who each have access to specific Tik Tok Shop features.
Affiliate Creator Affiliate creators are individual Tik Tok Shop creator accounts with access to the Tik Tok Shop Product Marketplace.
You do not need a creator bind with a Tik Tok Shop.
Affiliate Creators must:
Self-apply to be a Tik Tok Shop creator.
Have a minimum of 1,000 followers Marketing Creator Marketing Creators are creator accounts that are bound to a seller account through a marketing creator bind.
Marketing Creators can promote products from the bound Tik Tok Shop and also have access to the Tik Tok Shop Product Marketplace.
They do not need to have the same account name as their bound Tik Tok Shop.

Be invited to a marketing creator bind by a Tik Tok Shop Official Shop Creator Official Shop Creators are creator accounts that are bound to a seller account through an official creator bind.
These are the official creator accounts of the bound Tik Tok Shop.
Official Shop Creators can only promote products from the bound Tik Tok Shop.
They do not have access to the Affiliate Product Marketplace.
These creators do not have a minimum follower count criteria to be bound to a Tik Tok Shop.
Official Shop Creators must:
Be invited to an official creator bind by a Tik Tok Shop Have the same creator account name as the bound Tik Tok Shop.
Requirements for Tik Tok Shop Creators You must also meet the following requirements to become an approved Tik Tok Shop Creator: Be at least 18 years old Must meet the respective follower requirements for each creator type Must not be a Government, Politician, or Political Party Account (GPPPA) as defined in this article Must be based in the United States Must comply with our: Tik Tok Shop Content Policy Tik Tok Community Guidelines Creator Code of Conduct All other Tik Tok Shop policies Must pass the Creator Identity Verification process (Not applicable to Official Shop creators)Must have no prior record of having e-commerce permissions revoked by Tik Tok Shop Must not be associated with accounts that have had e-commerce permissions revoked by Tik Tok Shop After your application, you will be asked to verify your Age and identity: Affiliate creators who fail the identity check will not be granted Tik Tok Shop creator e-commerce permissions Marketing creators will only need to complete their identity verification when accessing the Tik Tok Shop Product Marketplace to earn commissions Official Shop creators are exempted from the creator identity verification process Age Confirmation If you are an Affiliate and Marketing creator, you will be asked to verify your age upon registering for access to the Tik Tok Shop Product Marketplace.
You must confirm your age within 2 months of registration.
You are given up to 15 attempts, depending on your chosen method of confirmation.
This includes: In-app recognition: Up to 3 attempts Credit card authorization: Up to 6 attempts Uploading a real-time ID and selfie photo: Up to 6 attempts.
Take Photos of your Government Issued IDTake 3 real-time selfies with your head turned.
Identity Verification This section applies to Affiliate and Marketing creators who meet any of the following scenarios: Registered for e-commerce permissions starting July 2025.
Have not completed your identity verification before July 2025.
You may be asked to submit your personal identity information and provide identification documents to verify your eligibility after earning your first commission.
These include: Your Full Name Date of birth Address Front and back images of a valid government-issued identity document (up to 10 attempts), such as: U.
driver's license U.
state-issued identity Passport (Personal details page only)Identity verification may take a few minutes.
Once verified, you can withdraw your commissions.
Creator Pilot Program Early Stage Pilot Program for official & marketing creators: After successfully binding to a seller, newly onboarded Official Creator and Marketing Creator may automatically enter the Early-Stage Pilot Program for at least 30 days.
During this program, some account capabilities may be limited.
For example, you may have: A posting limit of up to 3 e-commerce videos per day To graduate from the program and unlock full capabilities, you must meet all of the following requirements: Be bound to the program for at least 30 days.
Reach at least 1,000 followers Pass Tik Tok Shop’s compliance and security evaluations Please note: If your account unbinds and re-binds with a seller, your program status may be re-evaluated Switching creator types may result in re-entry into the Pilot Program or a reset of your status Accounts that have already graduated from the Affiliate Creator Pilot Program are not subject to this Early-Stage Pilot Program Affiliate Creator Pilot Program: After successful verification, Affiliate Creators with fewer than 5,000 followers are automatically enrolled in the Affiliate Creator Pilot Program for at least 30 days.
Program Restrictions During this program, your capabilities are limited.
For example, you will have: Access only to products with a Shop Performance Score of 95% or higher A posting limit of up to 3 shoppable product videos per day and 3 shoppable LIVEs per week No eligibility to join campaigns Extended Pilot Creator Restrictions In some cases Tik Tok Shop may, at its discretion, designate you as an Extended Pilot Creator.
If you are tagged as an Extended Pilot Creator, stricter restrictions may apply, and you will not be eligible to graduate from the Pilot Program while this tag remains active.

Extended Pilot Creators may have: A posting limit of up to 3 shoppable product videos per week A posting limit of up to 1 shoppable LIVE per week Access only to products with a Shop Performance Score of 95% or higher No eligibility to join campaigns Graduation Requirements To graduate from the program and remove ALL pilot program limitations, creators must: Reach at least 5,000 followers; and Remain in the program for at least 30 days Early Restriction Unlock Eligibility If a creator does not reach 5,000 followers within 30 days, they may still, at Tik Tok Shop’s discretion, become eligible for early removal of certain restrictions by: Passing the probation quiz Reaching at least 176 Creator Health Rating points Meeting at least one of the following requirements: Publish 6 or more shoppable videos, each at least 8 seconds long Promote Tik Tok Shop products in at least 1 livestream that is at least 5 minutes long Generate 10 orders through shoppable content Eligible creators may also have restrictions related to Tik Tok Shop Product Marketplace access, shoppable LIVE features, and campaign participation lifted early.
Posting Limits for Shoppable Content (US)Effective from May 11, 2026, Tik Tok Shop will introduce daily posting limits for shoppable content for all US merchants and creators to help promote content quality and improve the overall user experience.
Posting Limits Creators and merchants may post:• Up to 30 shoppable short videos per day• Up to 60 shoppable photo posts per day Enforcement Actions and Appeals We regularly review creator accounts for compliance with our policies.
If violations are identified, we will take enforcement actions.
This may include, but is not limited to: Assigning violation points Removing content Removing access to features Restricting commission earnings Restricting or removing your creator account Creators can view their account health and any enforcement actions on the Creator Health Rating (CHR) page.
